Aspen trees were harvested from the Rocky Mountains because of winter kill or trees that had fallen due to wind damage and had blocked forest roads making them impassable.

Certain pieces of art include a Turquoise inlay of pulverized Pikes Peak Granite gleaned from behind Tom and Nancy's cabin, while other rustic pieces have natural cracks secured with a specialized "stitching" technique.
